For many Indigenous people, emotional struggles cannot always be separated cleanly from history, family, identity, displacement, or intergenerational experiences.
Some people feel deeply connected to culture. Others feel disconnected from it. Many feel caught somewhere in between.
There can be grief in:
– not knowing language
– feeling disconnected from community
– carrying family trauma
– navigating mixed identities
– trying to succeed inside systems that were not built for us
– feeling pressure to “prove” Indigeneity
– learning parts of family history later in life
Therapy for Indigenous Adults in Ontario
Therapy cannot erase these realities. But it can provide space to explore them honestly, without judgment or performance.
My approach is grounded, relational, and conversational. I believe healing often begins not with pretending everything is okay, but with finally being able to speak openly.
I welcome Indigenous clients from diverse backgrounds, including those still exploring their relationship to culture, identity, and belonging.
Virtual sessions are available across Ontario. Let’s talk.
