Maybe you’ve been feeling anxious, overwhelmed, burnt out, or just a little lost lately. Maybe something has changed in your life, or you’re having a hard time with family, relationships, work, or figuring out what you actually want. Or maybe you can’t quite put your finger on what’s wrong, you just know that things have been feeling harder than usual.
Maybe you’ve felt caught between different worlds, or like different parts of who you are don’t always fit neatly together. I’m especially interested in working with people who are navigating culture, religion, gender, sexuality, family expectations, and questions around identity and belonging. I am a queer identifying and queer affirming care provider, and hold deeply onto the value of providing a safe and welcoming space for all. I want therapy to be a place where you don’t have to leave any of those parts of yourself at the door.
You also don’t need to be coming to therapy specifically for those things. I work with people experiencing a range of concerns, and sometimes you just need somewhere to slow down, talk things through, and make sense of what’s going on.
I know that a lot of what we struggle with doesn’t happen in isolation. Our families, cultures, communities, relationships, and the systems around us all shape our experiences. I want to understand those pieces of your life, while also getting to know you and what you want for yourself.
I come from a background in crisis navigation, and that has taught me that life can be complicated, messy, and sometimes really hard. You don’t need to come to therapy with everything figured out. We can start wherever you are and work through it, at a pace that feels right for you.
My approach draws from acceptance and commitment therapy, relational-cultural therapy, narrative therapy, and is ultimately influenced by feminist therapy. In practice this means I believe that as people we do our best to find our values and live by them, the relationships we have hold great power for growth, the stories we have of ourselves impact us, and that we are all impacted by systems that are around us.
