Sometimes the hardest things to explain are the things you’ve gotten really good at living with. Maybe you’re the person who keeps everything together but overthinks when you’re alone. You care deeply about your relationships but struggle to say what you need. Or you understand your patterns logically but somehow keep finding yourself back in them.
As a South Asian therapist, I also understand that who we are doesn’t exist separately from our families, cultures, and communities. Things like family expectations, being the “good” daughter or son, keeping the peace, guilt around boundaries, balancing different cultures, or feeling responsible for other people can become so normal that we don’t always realize how much we’re carrying.
You shouldn’t have to spend half of therapy explaining why something that might seem small from the outside feels complicated within your family or culture.
I work with anxiety, ADHD, trauma, relationships, attachment, self-esteem, family dynamics, and life transitions. I’m especially interested in how our earlier experiences and relationships can quietly shape how we communicate, cope, connect, and see ourselves today.
In sessions, I’ll be involved in the conversation. I’ll ask questions, share what I notice, and help you make connections you may not have considered. We can talk about the difficult stuff without every session feeling heavy. There’s room for humour, frustration, tangents, and simply being yourself.
I currently offer affordable virtual counselling for $30–$50 per session.
