Bio: Hello! My name Is Rebecca (she/they) 🙂 I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor who offers counselling to fellow QTBIPOC folks including both adults and teens. I believe that therapy is inherently political and my approach takes that of a more casual and relational nature than some may have previously experienced. My aim in doing so is to not only break down power dynamics, but also to prioritize building our trust, safety, and rapport. Whether you’re looking for support reactively (crisis management) or proactively (growth focused), I graciously welcome you to co-exist and share space with me. As a sick and disabled queer racialized femme, my practice is firmly grounded in anti-oppressive, intersectional, and liberatory practices. Some of the ways in which my work differs from typical colonialized and capitalized therapy can include centering discussions around systemic barriers, using laughter as a tool for healing, co-envisioning care, sharing in snacks, and de-centralizing care webs. I strive to use modalities that focus on collaboration, meaning making, and somatic interventions to target the collective mind, body, and spirit.
