Punita Krishnatry, MPCC

Pronouns: She/her
Located In: Vancouver
Session Format: In-person

Bio: I work with individuals, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship distress, emotional disconnection, family conflict, grief and loss, life transitions, and cultural or identity-related challenges. I offer a warm, safe, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your emotions, relationships, and experiences with openness and compassion.

My approach is person-centred, attachment-based, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed. I believe meaningful change happens through connection. Together, we explore the emotional and relational patterns that may leave you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or misunderstood. I can support you in developing greater self-awareness and emotional regulation, communicating more effectively, and building more secure and meaningful relationships with yourself and others.

Having lived in India, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Canada, I understand how culture, migration, identity, family expectations, and a sense of belonging can shape our emotional wellbeing and relationships. I particularly welcome South Asian and multicultural clients navigating the intersection of relationships, family, and culture. Counselling is available in English, Hindi, and Punjabi.

I am a Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling (MPCC). I have completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, including the Externship and Core Skills, as well as training in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy and Emotionally Focused Family Therapy.

My work is grounded primarily in attachment theory and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Depending on your needs, I may also integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and somatic approaches.

My role is to meet you with empathy, curiosity, and respect while helping you understand the patterns beneath your struggles and move toward greater emotional wellbeing, connection, and meaningful change.
