Session Format: Online, Telephone

Bio: I see you out there, trying to survive and heal in what can be understood as a “trauma culture.” In a trauma culture, the normal mode of operation is dehumanization, violence, and oppression. It can feel impossible to figure out what “wellness” even means when this is the environment around us.

What is hidden from us is that our ancestors had their own indigenous ways of healing thousands of years before modern psychotherapy even existed. Pain, violence, and trauma existed for our ancestors too. And they had ways of healing that allowed them to stay connected to health, nature, spirituality, and each other. Before colonialism and white supremacy attempted to rob us of these tools that remind us of who we really are: sovereign, sacred beings.

The western psychotherapy/mental health model has given us useful tools and insights. But the real magic happens when we take what works from that model and then go beyond it, connecting to the ancestral knowledge that we can access through our bodies, nervous systems, and spirits.

If this is the kind of work that calls to you, please reach out. I would be honoured to talk with you about how I can support you.
