Bio: Life often sends things our way we feel unprepared for, which can make us feel stuck, scared, or lost. Maybe you’ve noticed a shift in your friendships or intimate relationships. Maybe you want to understand your family of origin. Maybe you’re fed up with feeling like things aren’t going the way you wish they would. Whatever brings you to seek support, I’m here to help you develop the skills to navigate through what you didn’t expect. As a first generation Canadian, I know that many of us who seek support may be the first in our entire lineage to do so. As a result, it is important for me to provide a space for all individuals to explore their challenges and overcome obstacles.

Part of why I became a therapist is that I wasn’t connecting with my therapists and I was sick of explaining my cultural context to people who just didn’t get it. We may not have the same life experiences, but by working with clients who exist in the world in a similar context, we can connect in a way for me to empathize deeply with what you’re struggling with.

I focus on building a strong relationship with you based in openness and collaboration. Therapy is not always easy, and it requires hard work. I want to support you to develop skills in order to thrive. I believe that lasting, positive change comes from self-awareness and the use of concrete tools to work on your goals.

It is my goal to provide you with a safe, non-judgmental space. In therapy, I work with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, emotional dysregulation, self-esteem, life transitions, racial and cultural issues, family and interpersonal relationships. I work eclectically, borrowing from several modalities to meet my client’s needs. Most of my work is in trauma psychotherapy, working specifically with BIPOC to help them understand and heal from family, romantic, and interpersonal relationships as well as recovering from trauma.

I work as a Registered Psychotherapist providing individual psychotherapy. I have specific training in Trauma- Informed Psychotherapy, Attachment Based Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy , and a neuroscience-based trauma processing modality called Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR).

I offer all clients a free, 15 minute phone consult to see if we’d be a good fit to work together, and all therapy with me is a collaboration.
