Bio: What if you grew up in a family where talking about your mental health was natural? What if your parents or siblings talked about the benefits of going to therapy? What if emotional regulation were taught from a young age at school? If you didn’t learn how to regulate your emotions, it makes sense that as an adult, you struggle with this. I grew up in England, where mental health issues were swept under the rug. Growing up in an Indian family, my parents questioned why anyone would want to open up and be vulnerable with a complete stranger.

As an immigrant in Canada, I understand some of the unique challenges immigrants may experience in a new country, culture, and community. On the one hand, you want to live in Canada and build your future, but you also miss home, friends and your community. I work with individuals who struggle with feelings of sadness, loneliness and depression. I also support folks who want to strengthen their identity and their relationship with themselves. Just because you were born and raised in a culture, it doesn’t mean you identify with it. You may feel guilty about wanting to create your own path. Let’s unpack this guilt and fear together.

Reach out today and book a free 15-minute consultation. Let’s have a chat about how I can support you and whether I might be a good fit. I understand that in some cultures asking for support is taboo, but please hear me when I say it’s okay to ask for support. I know it’s not easy to reach out, but I’m here for you every step of the way.
