Bio: My biggest inspiration has always been people. Over the past decade I have found joy in supporting individuals, couples and families to increase their emotional awareness, increase understanding, compassion and motivation to achieve individualised goals. I have supported people through major life transitions and significant mental health needs, especially connecting with marginalised and racialised folk. I believe we all are resourceful beings and sometimes it can be helpful for another person to guide tapping into that and that is exactly what I’m here to do. I bring an open, warm and positive energy. I work in a person-centred and holistic manner, with specialisms including systemic practice, family systems, cognitive behavioural therapy, narrative therapy and solution focused brief therapy. As a qualified yoga and mindfulness practitioner, incorporating the connection when desired between the body, mind and spirit. I understand that reaching out can at times be difficult and by doing so highlighting here that’s already a win! I’m here to answer any questions you may have and more than happy to set up a free, no commitment, 15 minute informal chat, to see where to take it from there. I respectfully acknowledge that I live and work on the unceded traditional homelands of the Coast Salish Peoples, including x”makwayam (Musqueam), Skwxwú7 mesh (Squamish) and Salilwata?/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. I am an immigrant to these lands and have awareness that I do relate to the experience of being an ethnic minority due to being black and living in majority white based locations, though my ability to move to Canada so easily from the UK is part due to the privilege I hold with being a British citizen. I make it my on-going priority to both learn about Canadian indigenous history, present day as well as celebrating in the cultures.
