Bio: You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted from trying to manage everything on your own. Perhaps you are navigating anxiety or depression, relationship or family challenges, a major life transition, or the pressure of balancing your own needs with cultural, family, or social expectations. You may not know exactly what needs to change, but know that something does not feel quite right.
I strive to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space where you can slow down, explore what you are experiencing, and feel genuinely heard and understood. My approach is collaborative, person-centred, culturally responsive, and strengths-based. I believe there is no single path to healing and tailor counselling to each person’s needs, goals, strengths, and circumstances.
My clinical experience across healthcare and community settings has shaped my understanding of how mental health can be influenced by relationships, culture, identity, life circumstances, and broader social contexts. I have supported clients navigating anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship and family difficulties, cultural identity concerns, and significant life transitions.
As a first-generation Korean immigrant, I bring a personal understanding of navigating cultural transitions and finding a sense of belonging across different cultural contexts. I particularly value creating a space where conversations about culture, family expectations, identity, immigration, and relationships can be explored with curiosity and without judgment.
Drawing from approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness, and emotion-focused approaches, I work collaboratively with clients to better understand themselves, develop practical ways of coping, and move toward changes that feel meaningful to them.
