Bio: Hi,
I’m Maddy.
If you have ever felt like you do not fully belong anywhere, or like parts of your identity have been misunderstood, unseen, or hard to hold together, you are not alone.
I am a student counsellor providing supervised counselling in Vancouver, BC. I work with youth and adults who are exploring identity, belonging, and self-understanding, with a focus on Black identity, adoption, and the experience of growing up between different worlds.
Many of the people I support have felt unseen, misunderstood, or disconnected from parts of themselves or their story. This can show up as self-doubt, emotional overwhelm, difficulty feeling grounded in identity, or a sense of not fully belonging anywhere.
In our work together, you are the expert in your life, and we move at your pace. We focus on understanding your experiences and working toward goals that feel meaningful and aligned with
what you want for yourself.
As a Black woman and adoptee, I bring lived experience of identity, belonging, and navigating
systems and relationships that were not built with your experience in mind.
I also have experience supporting neurodivergent clients, including ADHD and autistic clients, through both personal and professional contexts.
My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and collaborative.
I offer low-cost, supervised counselling in Vancouver.
If this resonates, I welcome you to reach out.
