Reproductive Spectrum Doula & Sexual Health Educator

Bio: I am a reproductive spectrum doula who has been working with racialized parents since 2013. I have the most experience with new immigrants/refugees who are navigating Canada's healthcare system for the first time and with complex hospital-based care. I provide practical, information, emotional, and social support from an empowerment and liberation-focused framework.

My experience working with survivors of violence prompted me to also become a certified sexual health educator. I run Oru Kutty Community Society to deliver mental, sexual, and reproductive health education and services in a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and culturally-aware manner. Through evidence-based practices and knowledge translation in Tamil and English, we empower those with multiple marginalized identities to bridge the gap between scientific research and lay understanding, enabling everyone to self-advocate for their sexual, reproductive, and mental health needs. We combat barriers to access and advocate for the sexual and reproductive rights of racialized communities.
