Myriam Khouzam
Bio: I am a queer cis-woman of colour of North African descent. I live in Attiwandarionia (Hamilton, ON) as a second-generation, unintentional guest on Turtle Island (Canada), and more specifically on the traditional territories of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Mississaugas. I offer my services in person (Hamilton, ON – 430 York Blvd), and online.
I have studied and continue to study with many Traditional Healers worldwide. I combine different techniques and tools to help people find Energetic, Emotional, Physical, and Spiritual Balance. I have taught yoga and meditation since 2001, with more than 1500 hours of trauma-informed and somatic training. I am also a trained Shiatsu Therapist and a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN) with a diploma from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition.
I’ve long been intrigued by what truly feeds us. Through deep personal experience and guiding others, I’ve gained valuable insight into the connection between nourishment (both tactile and symbolic), physical health, and our emotional and spiritual landscape.
I am currently enrolled in the yearlong Compassionate Inquiry Professional Program offered by Dr. Gabor Maté and Sat Dharam Kaur ND. This graduate-level trauma-informed psychotherapeutic approach “gently uncovers and releases the layers of childhood trauma, constriction and suppressed emotion embedded in the body, that are at the root of illness and addiction. The goal of the Compassionate Inquiry approach is to bring compassion, respect, acceptance, insight, healing, freedom and connection.”
