Bio: Hello, I am a graduate of the the Expressive Arts Therapy Program at the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute. I believe in the power of the imagination to support healing. I also have a Masters of Education in Educational Practice. I believe that creativity and healing move through different modalities. I experientially explore the arts as a way of knowing as well as a form of expression for myself and others. I aspire to be someone who embodies the imagination and play that I want others to experience. Dance, poetry, storytelling, ceremony, movement, sandplay, collaging vision boards, writing, are just some of the forms that I have a long history with. I am passionate about the journey into the creative process, which includes the flow states of play. I consciously find ways to honour diversity, inclusion and representation in the expressive arts. My 22 years of experience as a classroom teacher and 1 year expressive arts practicum has shown me the way to connect and engage with people of all ages. I integrate the Expressive Arts with different aspects of learning to support Social-Emotional Health. I have led workshops that support those in the caring professions to prevent burnout and rekindle joy again. I have training in Sand Play Therapy, which is a powerful and joyful opportunity for those that are drawn to it. I aspire to help tell the story of how we come to truly honour one’s journey and identity through play, and art. I want to explore how we come to nurture resilience, love, and community. I offer the option of ceremony that is personally significant such as connecting to our ancestors and honouring the earth. I am ready to assist in the transformation of collective trauma in schools and individuals into the mystery of healing. I am excited to work with you if my words resonate.
