Bio: Hi, I’m Maligne (she/her). Pronounced “Ma-Leen.” I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with over 10 years of experience as a nurse working in community health, outpatient clinics, and acute care hospital settings. My clinical background includes mental health, addictions, and eating disorders. I now offer virtual therapy to individuals seeking a compassionate, trauma-informed space to begin or continue their healing journey. My approach is grounded in cultural humility, anti-oppressive practice, and deep respect for the complexities of each person’s lived experience. I specialize in supporting BIPOC and other marginalized communities through a culturally sensitive lens, offering care that is both affirming and attuned to intergenerational and systemic impacts on mental health. My areas of focus include: Addictions and substance use Eating disorders and body image Grief and loss Healthy relationships and boundaries Cultural identity and intergenerational experiences Frontline worker stress, burnout, and compassion fatigue Self-worth, self-love, and inner healing I have additional training in crisis intervention, opioid antagonist therapy, Naloxone and Sublocade administration, and psychoeducational wellness facilitation. As a second-generation Filipina Canadian, I bring both lived and clinical experience to my work. I understand that we all start from different places in life, and that privilege, access, and systemic barriers shape our mental health journeys. With over two decades of personal therapy experience, I know what it means to sit on both sides of the therapeutic relationship, and I hold that responsibility with deep care, empathy, and respect. My hope is to offer you a warm, nonjudgmental space where you feel seen, heard, and understood. Together, we’ll explore your story, nurture your strengths, and move toward healing, self-acceptance, and a more peaceful, empowered way of being. You don’t have to do this alone.
